How does this work?  People's Power & Light will match your electrical usage with wind power. Payments for New England Wind are in addition to your regular monthly electricity charges and will appear on your electricity bill as a separate line item. You only have to make one easy payment each month to National Grid*, including both your regular electricity charges and your New England Wind payment. You will continue to receive service from National Grid, but your electricity mix will look much nicer!

PricingNew England Wind is an additional fee per kilowatt-hour (kWh) and costs 3.8 cents/kWh above National Grid's standard offer rate. The premium costs the average household $23 per month and prevents over 600lbs of carbon emissions. You can calculate your average premium with our calculator.

Tax-deductible!  100% of your payments for New England Wind can be deducted from your federal taxes if you itemize charitable contributions.

The label enables consumers to look at the energy sources, air emissions and information about the supplier in order to make a more informed choice of a power supplier. Consumers can compare energy labels to make the best choice based on their energy needs.
