The Providence Journal interviewed People's Power & Light Executive Director Larry Chretien for this excellent article about home energy conservation. While the news about the backlog of energy audits may dissuade you from signing up now, don’t let it. The sooner you sign up, the sooner you’ll be served. It will also give National Grid and the Public Utilities Commission a better idea of how much demand there are for these audits, something RI policymakers are trying to determine right now.

RI Rep. Art Handy on global warming bill, peak oil and more

RI State Rep. Art Handy (D-Cranston) spoke at the Apeiron Institute Sustainable Living Festival in June, which PP&L sponsored. In this video, Representative Handy explains legislation called the Global Warming Solutions Act, which failed to pass the RI General Assembly in the 2008 session. After hearing his explanation, PP&L hopes that you will contact your legislators as suggested towards the end of the video, to encourage them to move the legislation in 2009.
