About People's Power & Light
Since 2002, People's Power & Light has pursued a mission to make energy more affordable and environmentally sustainable for the consumers of Rhode Island. Working with our sister organization in Massachusetts, Mass Energy, we advocate for consumers and the environment.

Discount Heating Oil Network
Our 17,000 members save 15-30 cents per gallon on their heating bills.
Green Power Programs
Our New England Wind FundSM and New England GreenStartSM programs enable consumers to choose electricity resources that are better for the environment than fossil fuels and nuclear power. Our New England Wind Fund supports development of community wind turbines.
Community Programs
Our Oil Bank provides heating assistance for members of our community who need it most.
Advocacy
Our staff serves as a trusted voice for both consumers and the environment on local, state, regional and national energy issues.
An Accountable Nonprofit
Our organization, doing business as People’s Power & Light in Rhode Island, and our Massachusetts arm, Mass Energy Consumers Alliance, are officially the Energy Consumers Alliance of New England, an IRS-designated nonprofit 501(c)3. Click here for documents detailing our accountability.
