Pricing and Details
You can purchase New England GreenStart to match either 100% or 50% of your electricity usage. Greening 100% of your electricity is the best way to make a difference, but for some budgets the 50% option is more appropriate.
New England GreenStart 100% costs 2.4 cents/kWh and New England GreenStart 50% costs 1.25 cents/kWh. Note that this is in addition to your regular National Grid charges. But your GreenStart payments are tax deductible if you itemize! PP&L will send you information in January so if you itemize you can deduct GreenStart payments as a charitable contribution.
What does this mean for your electric bill? It depends upon how much electricity you use, as illustrated by the chart below. :

Product Disclosure Label
Electric Power Suppliers are required by the Rhode Island Public Utilities commission to provide customers with a disclosure label. The label enables consumers to look at the energy sources, air emissions and information about the supplier used to serve their needs. Consumers can compare energy labels to make the best choice based on their energy needs.
Terms of Service
The Terms of Service is the official agreement for GreenUp Service for a customer who has chosen People's Power & Light’s New England GreenStart program. This is basically the “legal info.” For program information, please view the website or call PP&L at 401-861-6111.
